This last variation will combine the peace and tranquility of yoga and the hardcore nature of a plank exercise.

Day 6: Variations Of Plank To Tone Up My Body: Bird Dog Plank

How to do it?

  • Get to starting position. Raise torso above the ground with toes for support.
  • Lift one leg behind. Keep it straight.
  • Lift opposite arm in front. If you lift your left leg then lift your right arm. Again, keep it straight.
  • Maintain posture. Hold position for a set amount of time.
  • Switch places. Alternate left and right arms and legs.

Why it matters?

  • The Bird Dog Plank works the upper and lower abs as well as the glutes, shoulders, and lats.
  • It helps improve your posture and balance greatly.
