Avoid prepackaged food – boxed, bagged, or canned.

Why it matters?

Okay, some types of food might seem like they are perfectly natural and free from added preservatives or sugar, but 99% of the time they are not. The fact that they have been packaged already means that they have been touched by a manufacturer, and manufacturers often have to add some kind of preservative to their products to prolong their shelf life. This ensures their products last longer and makes them more profit as a result. The easiest way to cut down on processed foods is to avoid all packaged foods, at least until you’re convinced the product is free from artificial additives.
