How to do it?
- Pick a nice walking spot. Parks or even your neighborhood are pretty good choices.
- Wear appropriate footwear. Slippers, sandals, or even running shoes will do. Just don’t go bare unless you know you won’t be stepping on sharp objects.
- Walk to work. No, we’re not suggesting you walk from home to work. Get off somewhere nearby and walk to your office. If you have a car, park it nearby or at a place where you’ll have to walk to get to the entrance.
- Take the stairs. If you only have to get up or down a floor then it would be better and healthier if you use the staircase.
- Walk back home. Like walking to work but in reverse. Besides, it’s sometimes relaxing when you walk back home.
Why it matters
Any form of exercise is good so long as you’re always doing it. Walking just happens to be the simplest of simple exercises. Walking helps keep your metabolism running pretty fast while also working your leg muscles.
