When you’re young, you look for romance.
Now you would still love romance, with the premise that you two are compatible and share similar values.
Years ago you don’t think much before starting a relationship. As long as you feel you like that person, you invest time, emotions, etc. in it.

It’s hard. But it’s necessary.
You know being rational would make your future relationship more fulfilling and you’ll be happier in long term.
You know how to treat yourself well and put yourself first.
You know seconds of passion wouldn’t last long or last easily if you two have too contradicting values.
Starting a relationship has become harder to you. While it’s good, as you believe.
You’ve grown into a more mature person, who will still love him/her when he/she grows old.
Because you fall in love with them due to their inside, more than their outside, and it’s more than just a flash crush.
