Some people go to the grocery store to buy groceries. Others go to collect people's discarded shopping lists and make bizarre, almost-edible recipes from them. Well, actually, Tom Lakeman might be the only guy going to the grocery store for the latter reason.
Lakeman has been curating his strange collection of shopping list recipes for 8 years now and his collection is quite large.
"I started going into supermarkets just to look inside the baskets and trolleys for people's abandoned shopping lists! It became bit of an obsession... and it still is. It wasn't until I had about 200 handwritten shopping lists that I decided they weren't lists at all. They were recipes and so it began."
When it comes to making these aesthetically pleasing "food" monstrosities, Lakeman really only follows one rule: everything on the list must be used. It's that rule which seems to be the secret ingredient for this series because the bizarre combinations Lakeman comes up with are truly fascinating and completely disgusting.
