Meet the real life BFG! This 21-year-old is a whopping 7ft 1in – so big that he towers over his girlfriend and family and can’t even fit on his own bed.
Giant William Jewell, 21, nicknamed The BFG, has to have clothes specially made and he’s never come across anyone taller than him – despite having no family history of unusual height.
Lanky Will has size 15 feet and he’s been head and shoulders above the rest for most of his life measuring a colossal 6ft 3in when he was just 13-years-old way above 5ft 9in – the average height of an adult male.
The huge student is the son of two ordinary sized parents John, 65, is 6ft 3in and Beverley, 55, is 5ft 10in while his sister Emma, 23, is 5 ft. 10in and his girlfriend Selina, 19, is 5ft 9in.
Will, 21, from High Wycombe, said: “People stop and stare all the time!
“I can’t go out anywhere without someone turning around and whispering to their friends. I get asked the full works – ‘Are you on stilts?’, ‘What’s the weather like up there?’, ‘Do you play basketball?’ – It’s relentless!
“You can never lose me in a club either – I can’t walk through a room without being stopped at least five times by people asking for photos.”
Will’s long legs hang off the edge of his bed but he’s used his height to his advantage – playing basketball since the age of 16 for Reading and Bristol, and he’s even been on tour with the England youth set-up.
Selina Swift, Will’s 19-year-old girlfriend, is a whopping 16 inches shorter than him and would have to climb a ladder if Will stood up straight every time she kissed him.
She said: “He’s my Big Friendly Giant.
“I’ve been dating Will for just over a month – when I first met him of course I couldn’t believe the height but he’s really sweet and gentle.
“People stop and stare when we’re out together but it’s understandable he’s a gentle giant and he really is great company!”
Will, a student studying Business Management at Bath Spa University, puts his size down to drinking copious amounts of milk as a youngster.
He has to have his clothes specially made and when he was younger he had to have his school-trousers specially fitted due to his slim waist and unusually long legs. Recently, he’s even had to pay an extra 100 to have a suit specially fitted.
He said: “When I was at school it was painful at times because all the door frames were made for little kids and school clothes were also a struggle to find.
“My mum and dad are quite an average height so I’m not sure where it has come from.
“I drink a lot of milk but apart from that I really don’t know – in the past doctors have been just as confused as us.”
Will eats a huge amount – at an average of 3,500 calories a day his diet is way above the recommended daily amount of 2,500 but because of his unusual height his BMI is a healthy 20.3.
Breakdown of Will’s average daily diet:
XL bowl of cereal.
Snack 2 whole packets of biscuits.
Lunch – Giant baguette with crisps and a chocolate bar.
Dinner – BBQ meal 3 chicken breasts, four sausages, plate full of potatoes and salad.

A keen sportsman, his height means he has become a successful basketball player. He is pictured aged 13 (back row, centre) playing for the school rugby team
