Ecocapsule
A brainchild of Slovakia-based design studio Nice Architects, Ecocapsule is a hi-tech portable house powered by solar and wind energy. Thanks to a sophisticated built-in turbine, solar panels, and multiple water filters, each spherical unit is equipped with toilet, kitchenette, and running water, allowing dwellers to live off the grid pretty much anywhere in the world for about a year. Designed in a modern, minimalist style, the pod’s sleek interiors include a folding bed, a small working/dining place, and plenty of storage space, being capable of accommodating two adults. As for its versatility, it can be used as an independent research station, a tourist lodge, or transformed into a humanitarian-action unit.
