The Inside Of This Cruise Ship That’s Been Underwater for 2 Years Is Like a Horror Movie

In January 2012 the Costa Concordia cruise ship struck a rock in the Tyrrhenian Sea on the western coast of Italy. A 50 metre gash on the port side of the hull made the ship sink into the shallow waters, leaving the ship partially submerged for 2 years.

The evacuation procedure of the 3,229 passengers and 1,023 crew was a shambles, and an evacuation that should have taken half an hour took over 6 hours. 30 people perished in the debacle.
In 2014 American salvaging firm Titan Salvage took the contract to refloat the boat and salvage what remained. The boat was refloated and what emerged was a creepy wreck which still had peoples luggage in their rooms.

The ship was then towed 320 kilometres to its home port of Genoa, where it is now being recycled and broken down.
