Amanemu - Japan
Nestled in central Japan’s Ise Shima National Park, Amanemu is a serene hot spring resort, offering exquisite accommodation in 24 suites and 4 two-bedroom villas laid out to resemble a traditional local village.
Conceived by Kerry Hill Architects, the property takes inspiration from the old Minka buildings, and features contemporary Japanese interiors decorated with custom-made furniture and natural fabrics in soothing, neutral colors. Each stand-alone suite comes with its own private onsen, glorious terrace, and floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the gardens, while the villas have personal kitchens and powder rooms.
Themed around water, the 2,000-square-metre Aman Spa features a watsu pool, treatment suites, and a fitness center. The restaurant focuses on traditional Japanese cuisine, serving fresh seafood, delicious local specialties, as well as a selection of sake, shochu, and vintage Japanese whiskey.
