An Infographic To Help You Understand Cat Behavior

UnderstandingCatBehaviourSMALL

Cats are like roommates and dogs are like children.

After owning many dogs and cats, this statement has proven to be true time and time again. Dogs are similar to your little kid sibling in numerous ways. Both will run into the street as soon as a blind eye is turned, and both constantly eat things off the ground that they shouldn’t. Often times, dogs and children both act instinctively. They do not think about what the inevitable outcomes of their actions will be. Was it worth it to dig holes in the yard? Yes, certainly. Is it worth it to draw all over the walls with crayons? You bet it is!

In retrospect, cats and roommates are typically much more independently driven. They don’t wear their emotions on their sleeves. Dogs and kids are much more predictable and lack a great deal of logic at times. However, you shouldn’t blame them for their ignorance. They want nothing more than to be your best friend. Personal space is important: roommates and cats agree, whereas dogs and kids struggle with this concept.

As a pet owner, the dogs versus cats debate is evergreen. Preferences aside, it’s important to understand the psyche of your pets. No matter what furry friend you prefer, pets offer many benefits to life. With animal-assisted therapy, they aid in the recovery of mental health issues. Companionship helps countless people address issues like depression, anxiety, and even PTSD.

If you’ve chosen to be more partial to cats, I have some good news! The universe has blessed you with superior preferences and problem-solving skills. The following infographic by RSPCA helps illustrate typical cat behavior.
