What People Who Appear To Be Indifferent Want To Tell You

man-355612_1280

We live in our own worlds and do not want to be consumed in the external. We are content with who we are want we have. We may not have personal convictions, strong beliefs, principles, or any kind of soul. We just want to be distant and unengaged. Perhaps this is the best for us after all.

1. We don’t really care

Yes we don’t care. We can numb our feelings and will make dumb conversationalists. Perhaps we are so caught up in our world that what is going on the outside simply doesn’t bother us.

2. We don’t focus on the world

There are so many distractions. We just can’t stand a lot of this especially when we are pushed to buy into what everyone is trying to sell to us. We will rather focus on ourselves instead.

3. We suck at relationships

Yes you want us to show some emotions and tell us how we feel, but we won’t. Because we know that you as our partner do not determine our emotions should be. We evidently suck at relationships because it is possible we are not giving you our all.

4. We want to be mysterious

We really don’t want you to figure us out. We practically keep most of our opinions and plans to ourselves. We make it a practice not to be expressive. And people may consider us to be a labyrinth of many unknown paths.

5. We have got the world figured out

At least in our own way, we have got the world figured out. We understand that not everyone will like us and will give us what we ask. We know we can’t fix the world and we are not ready to give it a try.

6. We are responsible for ourselves

We accept full responsibility for whom we are; our thoughts, opinions and expressions. The truth is that we cannot be responsible for other people, whether their misfortunes or insecurities.

7. We know that only people who matter will stick around

Since we own we are and do not mind what others think about us we know that only the great friends who appreciate who we are will stay. It is not as if we are fake or nasty, we are simply indifferent.

8. We don’t want arguments

Getting embroiled in arguments and disputes can be emotionally draining to us. We want to avoid difficult situations the best we can.

9. We really are not focused on the consequences

This means sometimes we are shortsighted and do not see how far our indifference can cause irreparable damages. We protect ourselves with our indifference since we are indifferent to do outcomes of events.

10. We are not developmental

We are not progressive or trying to make things better. Our environment can be static and unresponsive and we really do not care much about making an input into making a change or improving the lives of those people around us.

11. We are static too

Because we are not focused on making a difference in the lives of others we also affect ourselves because we don’t really improve much. We are static and could be doing the same thing for many years.

12. We cannot be classified

Since we are indifferent, we really don’t care about our social status or what group we belong in. What this means is that people will find it hard to classify us whether we are in or out of a group or a situation.

13. We won’t seize opportunities

Yes opportunities will come. But since we emotionally detached and do not want to get too involved, we will be indifferent to opportunities and let events pan out without us making a contribution or effect. It is best for us this way because we may not be crushed and emotionally invested in anything that will take us away from ourselves.

10 Things Only People Who Don’t Care About What Others Say Would Understand

woman-489118_1280

People think that those who do not listen to their criticism or opinions are dumb, ignorant or callous. But most times it goes beyond just simply being selfish. It means that you want to assert your authority and responsibility for what choices you need to take. This makes you bolder and defiant to reaching goals and attaining success. Thus such people can understand certain things.

“Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind.” – Dr. Seuss

1. You know what choices matter

Not all things that are said to you have to count. You can be very selective and determine what choices you are supposed to take. You do not need anyone’s validation except yourself. Thus you can make progress and be kind to yourself on the decisions you have to take.

2. You are not liked by everybody

Because you are selective and do not have to follow everyone’s advice you are scorned by certain persons. You understand this and you are comfortable with the idea.

3. You are happy

Only you can understand the excitement you feel from taking your chances and doing what pleases. It is not as if you are stubborn or obstinate, it is just that you know that what applies to other people may not apply to you. Thus you feel unique, special and different. And with this come some self-esteem and an accomplishment that you are one with your inner self.

4. You understand that not everything is under your control

No matter how thoughtful you are and how much you try to make others reason along a smarter line, you just can’t force or bend them to understand your ideals. You understand your limitations that every other person will always have their own perspective of things and there is nothing you can do about that.

5. You have positive energy

You can store your energy and channel it to more appropriate or worthy pursuits rather than concerning yourself with what others are thinking. You do know that spending time to think or talk about X and Y opinions on a subject will only be futile.

6. You can define your own courage

It takes courage and a strong will to stand in defiance to what others say or think about you. You know what courage means and how disciplined you have become in saying no to things that may not just be best for you.

7. You determine your fate

You become a master of your destiny and do not consume yourself in a life of regrets. You are not asking yourself, “what if I have done this?” Avoiding the doubts, naysayers and what ifs make you live a life of purpose and offers you a rounder knowledge about yourself.

8. You fool around a little but you still prove a point

Not listening to others’ opinion doesn’t make you perfect. Yes you will make mistakes and fool around in trying to do what pleases you, but at the end of the day you can prove a point to yourself and to every other person who has thought otherwise.

9. You understand how to be expressive

People who do not care about what others say are bold and clear. You understand how to express yourself. Because at the end of the day your decisions could make or mar you, you can be clear about what you want. You are expressive and you either speak out or show your authenticity.

10. You know what it means to be complete

When you are not needy, it doesn’t mean you cannot ask for help when you need it, rather it means that you do not suffer a hole within you to hide something. Rather, you show fullness and completeness that you have it all figured out.

8 Reasons You Should Not Always Overthink

man-390341_1280

The human mind likes to be engaged and aware. Actively it always wants to be put to action. However it is left for you to term if these actions are right for you or not. For many thinking may just be the solution to their problem, but in the real sense if not regulated in the right dose it could lead to their debacle.

1. It doesn’t heal the pain but extends the time-frame

“Some of the greatest battles will be fought within the silent chambers of your own soul.” – Ezra Taft Benson

Over-thinking is a slow and insidious killer. It is not an antidote rather it is a poison on its own. And how devastating the effects can be when it tears down your mental and physical balance. Through the experience so much is lost and the hole it leaves seems too deep to be filled. Rather than clearing the pathway for possibilities to come, it stretches you into a realm of impossibilities.

2. Not everything will always be under your control

“The most common way people give up their power is by thinking they don’t have any.” – Alice Walker

Whether we like it or not, many things will not be under our control. We cannot even determine how good the weather will be in a week’s time, so why bother it? But for many they try to fight this notion and take charge with their thoughts. Painfully even these negative thoughts take them captive and exert its influence on them. Know that you cannot control everything, and you cannot determine possibilities or outcomes, you can only be prepared for them.

3. It shuts out solutions and focuses more on the problem

“Thinking is the hardest work there is, which is probably the reason so few engage in it.” – Henry Ford

In many cases time and patience offers the best solutions we need. But if only we could wait and act on how to make these solutions happen. Overthinking doesn’t offer solutions, rather it deludes us from seeing that there is a way out and channeling our resources into making this way out.

4. It steals your positive energy

“Don’t think. Thinking is the enemy of creativity. It’s self-conscious, and anything self-conscious is lousy. You can’t try to do things. You simply must do things.” – Ray Bradbury

We have so much positive energy in faith, joy and, optimism, confidence and peace. Yet with overthinking you have these beautiful qualities robbed and replaced by fear, resentment, anger, worry and doubts. Negative energy will not offer a structure and the excitement to get you out of precarious situations.

5. It makes you less thankful

“Over thinking ruins moods and kills good vibes.” – SupaNova Slom

Truthfully no matter how bad a situation or your environment is, there is always something to be thankful for. Being thankful makes you realize what progress and beauty you still have in your world. Focusing on this provides happiness and gladness.

6. It bloats our insecurities

“We are dying from over thinking. We are slowly killing ourselves by thinking about everything. Think. Think. Think. You can never trust the human mind anyway. It’s a death trap.” – Anthony Hopkins

Insecurities that may have dwelt in the deepest ocean of our thoughts seem to emanate anytime we overthink. Our insecurities diminish and bruise our self worth.

7. It puts you in a cocoon of “what ifs”

“But he wasn’t really thinking properly. It was as if the thoughts were chasing each other round and round his head without managing to catch up with each other.” – Isabel Hoving, The Dream Merchant

What is in the past and is assumed is illusory and not real. Overthinking puts you in a vague world where you do not face the realities and true essence of life. Nothing is perfect we should know and in finding solace in improving our situation rather than dwelling in “what ifs” we take charge of our situations and find purposeful direction.

8. It doesn’t make you appreciate the moment

“The more you overthink the less you will understand.” – Habeeb Akande

The moment is the present and this we are all living in. No one needs to live in a tomorrow or in the past, but rather the moment. In the moment you can find pleasure, grace and awareness in the simple things of life. We can find strong emotions to become lords over our circumstances. Overthinking could rob us of the moment and deny us of the consistent certainties that we still have. Sometimes what could take us out of our dilemmas and worries is to experience a day at a time.
